5 Different Types of Master's Degrees in Education

Various types of master's degrees in education can successfully bring a new revolution in the academic platform. Master's degrees are among the most diverse degrees in the educational system, with specializations, instructional techniques, and concentrations spanning a wide range of topics.

However, this variability distinguishes them and prevents them from being grouped into a single branch.

Types of Master's Degrees in Education

Although teaching-based and research-based coursework are the two basic types of master's degrees, there are several variations.

So, without any research about the master's degrees, the availability is not understood clearly. You can get admission in any of the master's degrees as follows:

1. Postgraduate Master's Degree

Master's degrees earned after finishing a bachelor's program are postgraduate or graduate master's degrees.

The types of master's degrees in education courses can last from two spheres.

Master of Arts (MA), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Master of Science (MSc/MS), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Applied Science (MAsc), and other master's degrees fall into this category.

2. Integrated Master's Degree

When an undergraduate bachelor's degree program includes an extra year of master's-level coursework, it is referred to as an integrated master's degree.

Master's degrees in STEM subjects, such as Master of Chemistry (MChem), Master of English (MEng), Master of Mathematics (MMath), Master of Physics (MPhys), Master of Psychology (MPsych), and others, are available.

3. Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

A Master of Business Administration program is for business students who wish to earn the skills and information they'll need to advance in their careers in business and management.

MBA students are typically working professionals who have already begun their careers in business and wish to grow.

These students will begin a program in which they will study broad business skills and receive training in various business disciplines.

An MBA also allows students to select a concentration within the degree, such as accounting or finance, allowing them to tailor their various types of master's degrees in education to a specific subject of interest.

4. Masters of Public Health (MPH)

Students who desire to improve their understanding of public health through academic and professional learning should pursue a Master of Public Health postgraduate degree program.

Global health, epidemiology, nutritional sciences, and occupational health are fields where an MPH can specialize.

5. Masters of Public Administration (MPA)

Master of Public Administration (MPA) is a postgraduate degree that focuses on public policy and is similar to an MBA in many ways.

Students who desire to work in the public sector rather than the commercial sector should pursue this degree.

Students who want to concentrate on the environment, international administration, science, and technology to work for the government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), not-for-profit organizations, or consulting typically pursue an MPA.
